Community Service Work Crew Monitor

DESCRIPTION:                  

This is a part-time position, Monday through Friday 7:30am to 12:30pm and two Monday afternoons 4:30pm to 6:30pm for orientation classes. There may be some travel between Johnson and Somervell Counties (if so, transportation is provided). 

 

DUTIES:                               

Supervise adults on probation in the performance of community service projects each day.  Keep an accurate accounting of community service hours completed by each probationer.  Ensure the safety of community service workers while performing community service.  Keep track of and properly maintain all community service equipment.  Maintain professional relations with outside agencies and departments associated with community service projects and instruct orientation class for adults on probation performing community service to outline safety measures, rules and policy.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:          

Interested candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as a valid Texas driver’s license and automobile liability insurance.  Applicants must be able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of basic building maintenance and the use and maintenance of lawn equipment and other hand tools.  Use of computer and basic data entry preferred.  Previous work crew experience preferred but not required.  Applicants must be able to work outside in varied weather conditions, including extreme heat.  Background checks will be completed.

  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS    

 Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or others. Must deal with difficult and sometimes volatile customers.

 

SALARY:                             

$12.50 per hour

Johnson County CSCD will conduct background checks on all prospective new hires that will
