Our goal at Johnson County's Office of Emergency management is to mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from the effects of disasters, be they natural disasters, such as tornadoes or floods or man made problems such as chemical spills.

The County Judge is charged by stature with responsibility for emergency management planning and operations. Most departments within Johnson County have emergency functions in addition to their normal duties and play key roles in our emergency operations strategy. All departments work together to coordinate a service and prepare for an emergency or disaster.

Gerald Mohr (817-556-6346) is the Coordinator for the Emergency Management Team and our liaison for radio communications.

The County is also privileged to have a Local Emergency Planning Committee (L.E.P.C.). This is a voluntary organization dedicated to improving responses to emergencies in Johnson County. The membership is made of leaders from Public Safety agencies, business, and industry. Scott Ritch is acting Chairman.
