Supervise a caseload of offenders placed under community supervision. Specific duties will be determined by the type of caseload assigned and may include but not be limited to: monitoring the probationer’s compliance with the orders of the Court through routine office and field contacts to ensure community safety, assisting the offender in locating services needed to bring about pro-social, law abiding behavior, conducting assessments and individualized case supervision plans, conducting orientation/intake with new probationers, closely communicating with probation officers in other counties to determine an offender’s compliance with conditions of probation, and reporting violations of probation to the appropriate authorities in a timely manner.

Part Time Community Service Monitor

Candidates must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and automobile liability insurance. Applicants must be physically able to work outside in varied weather conditions, including extreme heat, and prolonged standing may be required. Background checks will be completed.
Supervise persons on probation in the performance of community service projects. Keep an accurate accounting of community service hours completed by each probationer. Ensure the safety of community service workers while performing community service. Keep track of and properly maintain all community service equipment.
This is a part time position that will require the chosen applicant to work from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon Monday through Friday, except for recognized county holidays, with an occasional Saturday for a total of 20-28 hours per week.

Veterans Service Officer

Under general direction, of the Veterans Administration laws and the County Commissioners, performs supervisory and administrative duties in assisting veterans and their dependents to secure benefits to which they are entitled under the various laws and regulations. Plans, organizes and is otherwise responsible for procedures, policies, budgets, staff requirements, etc. within the policies and laws set forth by the Veterans Administration Code of Law Assists in appraisal of veterans and/or their dependents to determine eligibility for compensation, insurance, hospitalization, education, and employment benefits. May perform counseling as needed. Interprets and makes decisions regarding application of Veterans Administration Laws. Supervises and assists in the maintenance of current files on veterans, wives, widows, dependent parents, and orphans. Consults with doctors and public and private agencies on current interpretations and procedures. Performs other related duties as required.
Two years experience in veteran claims work or related field. Must be a Veteran of a recognized United States military service branch with honorable discharge to be considered for the position. If hired, will occassionally have contact with and work with unpredictable potentially violent clients and will have occassional exposure to communicable and contagious diseases.
