The County Auditor has responsibility for all financial transactions of the County; he audits the accounts of all officials who receive and disburse County funds; processes all accounts payables; administers the payroll and all other claims; and prepares monthly and annual financial reports for the County. The County Auditor is appointed for a two-year term by the Board of District Judges.

The Government Finance Officers Association awarded the Johnson County Auditor's Office the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the last several years! The Certificate of Achievement is a prestigious national award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government financial reports.
