Online Auction
Johnson County currently uses an online auction service provided by Rene Bates to sell all surplus property.
Auctions are the most frequent method for disposing of surplus and salvage property in Johnson County. In preparing items for sale, a list of items to be declared as surplus and salvage is presented to the Commissioners Court for approval.
Once Commissioners Court approval is received, the appropriate advertisement is placed in the Cleburne Times Review as required by Texas Local Government Code 263.153.
When the auction goes live, appointments may be made to view the items. All bidding is done online through Rene Bates Auction Service. Once an auction is completed appointments are made for pickup.
