The Johnson County Clerk certifies TABC Applications for the type of license/permit for which you are applying as required by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code. The certification is based upon the results of the last local-option election.
To obtain a license/permit to sell/serve alcoholic beverages in Johnson County, you will need to first visit the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission (TABC) website or contact your local TABC Office for information and forms.

The County Clerk requires that the application be certified by the City Secretary of the city where the proposed location exists prior to requesting the county's certification. After being certified by the City Secretary, the Johnson County Clerk’s Office will verify the wet/dry status and license type for the location indicated on the application. If permitted, the Clerk will then certify the application by signature and seal.
